I was feeling pretty satisfied with how my latest project turned out. I took a beat up side table and transformed it into a burst of whimsy. I couldn’t help but smile at the cheerful color combo.
Until my dad came by and said it reminded him of Charlie Brown’s shirt.
All I heard from him was wah-wah-wah-wahwah-wah.
Good grief Charlie Brown. Maybe he’s right.
Well here is the before picture of the unintentionally inspired by Peanuts side table. I picked it up a few weeks ago.
The wood finish was worn but look at the great curvy detail. It just needed a light sanding followed by a coat of primer.
Then I painted 2 coats of yellow. After they dried, I taped what I intended to be a wide chevron pattern…not Charlie Brown’s shirt.
I filled in between the tape with 2 coats of white. And finally sealed the table with a paste wax.
She’s a curvier gal.
With great legs.
I’m thinking this would be fab as a bedside table in a little girl’s room…Peanuts themed or otherwise.

Wow this is a beautiful table! The chevron stripes just took it to a new level and love that sunny color 🙂
I adore this table!

Very cute, and if it’s new name is Charlie Brown, all the better…he’s my FAVE character on Peanuts (no kidding)

I think your table is so cute and fun! I have one almost exactly like it, but in pink and white, that I painted as a bedside table for my daughter’s room.
Love this little table. It is so sweet!
This is too funny, I just bought several yards of yellow/white chevron for a tablecloth! I love the pattern. Awesome paint job 🙂
