my blue suede shoes

I don’t exactly want to rush the end of summer.  Believe me.  I don’t.  But around this time each year, I really start anticipating fall and all of its glory.  The chill in the air.  The crunchy leaves on the ground.  Warm apple cider.  Mmm, can’t wait!

So I was flipping through the August issue of Glamour magazine a couple of weeks ago.  This page of brogues had me excited.  I’m always looking for a cute boot or shoe that I can really work in all day long.  This oxford menswear style seems to hit the nail on the head.  I made a mental note about the suede ones in the middle of the page.

Would you believe that just days later while scouting for vintage, I came across my very own pair of never-worn blue suede shoes?  In my size!  Mint condition.

True story!  I’m in love with them.  Bring on fall!

But before I rush into fall, I want to share what I’ve been up to this summer in the blog world.  I’ve done a bit of hopping around.

First of all,  there’s a new blog in town.  Literally.  Have you heard about Philly Love Notes?  It is a collection of reminders. There is too much in the city that is forgotten or overlooked. This site seeks to rediscover those places — to remind the city, and us, that it is loved.  You can read my love note to Philly here.

I also visited another local blog, The Painted Home, and shared what’s in my beach bag  I know, I know.  I’m getting so personal this summer.  You can read about what’s in my bag here. Be sure to check out Denise’s portfolio while you’re there!

Many people have asked me about my logo.  It’s pretty fabulous, right?  I owe it all to the talented Carly Hall-Scott of Great Hall-Scott.  Her mantra is all about how to communicate simply and create good design through collaboration.  She just so happened to post about my store opening today.  You can read about it here and see some of her other client work as well.

That’s all for today!  Have a great week.
