world tour

Ok, world tour is a bit of an overstatement but to say that we’ve been on the road seems like an understatement.  In the past 10 days we’ve covered about 5 states and 1000 miles tending to both business and pleasure and luckily, for us business and pleasure are often the same thing.

We made new friends along the way.

But best of all, I spent a week with my husband celebrating our first anniversary

But its good to be home.  For now anyway.

I have to get back to unloading the truck.  Again.  And polishing up our latest treasures so I can share them with you.

dreaming about brimfield

Surely you have these dreams too.  Fields and fields of dusty old junk, rusty metal, chipping paint, worn in seats and glimmering glassware.

Where could this fairytale vintage-land be?  My heart pitter patters with anticipation of what we might find this year at Brimfield – the motherland of antiques.  The vintage mecca of the Northeast.

I suppose the trip is a tradition for us now.  Last year we honeymooned in Brimfield.  Laugh if you must but it was amazing!

We had a blast and both agree that the dirty fields of antiques and concessions of junk food topped the second leg of our trip in Nantucket, believe it or not.  Nantucket was amazing too – just a bit predictable.

So we’re celebrating our first anniversary at Brimfield this May and I can barely wait to see what we’ll find this time.

I lose sleep making mental lists of supplies we should pack like carts, dollies, bags, tissue, bungee cords and so on!  Maybe some healthier snacks than what’s offered.  Is anyone going this May?

Ah, market season is upon us for sure.  Our southern friends will be shopping Round Top in Texas next weekend.  Scott’s in Georgia also opens soon.  And of course we have Clover Market’s opening day in Philly in just a couple of weeks.  Tell me, what is the hot market in your region that you’ll be shopping?

wine down

I had the opportunity to do a little wine-ing down this weekend.  A much-needed girls getaway for sure!  Have you ever been to Long Island?

Long Island Wine Trail

I was completely blown away by the beauty.  It boasts everything I love rolled into one, well, long island. We stayed in North Fork, Suffolk county on a harbor nestled amongst the wineries.

Vineyards galore.  One right after another and then another and another.

Antique stores!  Yes, Long Island had some gorgeous little shops full of inspiring displays.

Clever repurposing ideas.  I’d love to replicate this wine bottle “wall” somewhere.

Beautiful old farmhouses and farm markets…all along the bay.

If you are looking for a getaway, I’d highly recommend a weekend trip out to Long Island.  It is just another reason to love this beautiful country!

But back to biz!  Next up, I will be at The Painted Home’s Holiday Pop-Up Shop with 2 of my favorite comical and creative bloggers.  I’ll be alongside Kelly of Eclectically Vintage and Denise of The Painted Home this Friday from 2-8…or until we run out of wine.

Unfortunately, I can’t make it Saturday so be sure to come for Friday happy hour if you want to see a free milk paint demo!  Good thing I just came back from wine country.  There will be plenty to share plus some tasty treats to pair!  Yup, I’m a poet.
